Carrot, finely chopped 1/4 cup

Tomato paste 2 tablespoons
Paprika 1 teaspoon
Cayenne pepper (optional) 1/4 teaspoon
Salt To taste
Black pepper To taste
All-purpose flour 1/4 cup
Seafood or chicken broth 4 cups
Heavy cream 1 cup
Cooked crab meat, shells removed 1/2 pound
Cooked shrimp, peeled, deveined 1/2 pound
Sherry (optional) 2 tablespoons
Fresh herbs for garnish As needed
Instructions:
Sauté Aromatics: Heat olive oil in a pot. Sauté onion, celery, and carrot until softened (about 5 mins). Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
Spice it Up: Stir in tomato paste, paprika, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Create Base: Sprinkle flour, stir until combined. Gradually add broth, stirring to prevent lumps. Simmer on low for 10 mins, stirring occasionally.
Blend and Simmer: Puree the soup until smooth. Mix in the heavy cream, simmer for an extra 10 mins until slightly thickened.
Add Seafood Magic: Add crab meat, shrimp, and sherry (if using). Simmer for 5 mins on low heat.
